photographs should be provocative, and not tell you what you already know. it takes no great power or magic to reproduce somebody's face in a photograph. the magic is seeing people in new ways. my name is Amelie Soucy, i was born and raised in Ontario Canada, and over the past year, i have discovered a passion for photography.
I am 16 years old (i know, my profile sais im 18, i messed up :$), and adore Portrait photography, because well, My portraits are more about me than they are about the people I photograph. i feel that with a photo, anything can be captured, like emotions, or memories, before they slip away. when i am holding my camera, bringing these ideas i have created in my mind to life, i feel like it is my escape from reality, and where nothing else in my life really has any effect on me. yeah, pretty deep.
I'm not a particularly verbose person. i think that's another reason why I enjoy taking pictures... they speak for themselves. like they always say, a picture is worth a thousand words.
